PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

The Mitchelton Football Club (FC) has been a large part of this suburb's life since 1916 and many players and supporters who have turned out for our Club have had long and fruitful associations with the District. A number of families have now had a several generations play with or support the Club.

Mitchelton FC is one of the oldest sporting clubs in Brisbane and is the second oldest registered football (soccer) Club in Brisbane. The vibrant, family-based club now boasts more than 700 members and has members as young as 5 years and as old as 60 years. Mitchelton FC has always been a popular Club to play for and has always been one of, if not the most supported Clubs in the region because of its friendly and passionate member base.

Over recent years our Club has become a leader in the sporting community developing a range of initiatives that has enabled us to grow and develop our business. Our success resulted in the Australian Sports Commission awarding us the winner of the Ausport Club Development Award in 2005 out of 3,000 registered Clubs in Australia.

In 2003 Mitchelton FC realised one of its lifelong dreams, after 83 years of effort by being promoted to the highest competition in Queensland, the Brisbane Premier League.

The Mitchelton Sports Club continues to strive towards providing local people with the safest and most professional sporting environment possible.
