Mitchie FC - Football Department Information |
Tuesday, 01 September 2009 |
Hello again to all Club Members
This time of year sees us get into some serious planning for next season. The Management Committee has created a Football Department (click here to see powerpoint description) headed by a Football Manager (click here to see Football Manager Position Description) which will feed into our new proposed structure under our Senior Football, Junior Football and Women's Football Directors.
We have appointed Ashley Hempstead as our Football Manager for 2010 and Ashley intends to hit the ground running. Ashley has asked for two immediate actions to take place:
- (1) interested persons attended a Coaches and Coordinators meeting on 2nd September, and
- (2) for interested persons to complete the 2010 Coaching Expression of Interest (click here to get the EOI form).
This meeting was used as a meet and greet opportunity as well as an information gathering and sharing exercise. Ashley explained how he intends to manage the Football Department over the next 12 months and he sought some feedback on what's working well and what can be improved.
We are keen to get the ball rolling and have as many Coaching positions filled as soon as appropriately credentialed coaches respond. All coaching positions will be put forward by the Football Manager for the endorsement of the Management Committee.
Regards,
Kevin Jones
President
Mitchelton Sports Club

As part of this strategic planning we would like as many people as possible to fill in a survey. To access the survey please click here.
It doesn’t take much time and it will be really helpful for the future planning of your club. Many thanks.

Friday, 28 August 2009 |

Goals for Grassroots at the Roar |
Monday, 24 August 2009 |
As seen on the Channel 9 show "Football Stars of Tomorrow" our Goals for Grassroots game is on this Saturday August 29 at Suncorp Stadium (3pm kick-off). Every goal the Brisbane Roar score against the Central Coast Mariners means an extra $1000 for the club (with a limit of $5000).
Mitchelton's under 10 "Magic" are also mascots for the Roar, and our Mitchie under 8 "Chargers" are also playing an SSG curtain-raiser at Suncorp that same day, so it would be great to get a good crowd of MFC supporters along to cheer for as many Roar goals as possible. Click here to get tickets to this game.

Lights Project Update 19 August |
Wednesday, 19 August 2009 |
As we stated earlier this year, we may have to turn off all floodlights for the first week of September. We have reached a critical stage of the project and this work needs to be done. This is an early warning so all coaches and managers can investigate earlier training times, or perhaps weekend sessions, during that week. We will send emails and post info on the website when we have confirmation of the dates that the lights will be out of action.
