About Men's Football at Mitchie PDF Print E-mail

 

In 2011 Mitchie FC will field teams in Brisbane Premier Division 1, Division 1 Reserves, Under  21 and Premier Youth (Under 18s) along with a second youth team and two Metro teams (Metro 3 and Metro 5).


The Committee has made the following senior coaching appointments to 2011:

Youth

 

  • Players who turn 18 in 2010 are eligible to play Under 18s
  • The Under 18s are the first age group in the Senior Men's and Senior Women's Divisions.

  • All teams will play a home and away fixture series.

  • All fixtures are played for points towards a premiership and a finals series.

  • At the end of the fixture rounds the team on the top of the table will be the League Champions.

  • All teams will train 2 nights a week.

  • ONLY registered Mitchelton players are eligible to attend training nights and play in games.

 

 

Seniors

 

  • Seniors include Youth, Open Men's, Open Women's and Men's Metropolitan Divisions.

  • In these age groups, players will go through a grading process (see grading policy). Players will be placed into teams that suit their ability. ONLY players who are registered with Mitchelton can participate in the grading process, training sessions and games.

  • All teams will play a home and away fixture series.

  • All fixtures are played for points towards a premiership and a finals series.

  • At the end of the fixture rounds the team on the top of the table will be the Premiers.

  • All teams will train 1 or 2 nights a week at the coach's discretion.

  • All players must have Boots, Shin Pads and Mitchelton FC Shorts and Socks.

  • Official Football Brisbane Referees are supplied whenever possible. If Football Brisbane is unable to provide referees it is the responsibility of the home team to provide referees.

 

 

Over 35s & Over 45s

 

  • This area of our Club continues to grow, with a record seven teams playing for Mitchie in 2011.

  • Many of the players have been with Mitchie for over 10 and 20 years.

  • As parents of Mitchelton juniors many of these elder statesmen of our club can be found coaching junior teams as well.

  • Mitchelton FC has teams in all the Over 35/45 Divisions..

Wet Weather Procedures

Match Days - To see if matches have been cancelled due to wet weather:

  1. Check the Football Brisbane website (click here to visit the site) which provides up to the minute information on ground closures for fixtures. This should be your first point of contact for all wet weather enquires;
  2. Check the Mitchie FC website for updates;
  3. Contact your team manager or coach;

 

 

Training Nights - To see if training has been cancelled because of bad weather:

  1. We will endeavour to post field closures on the Mitchie FC website between 4pm - 5pm;
  2. If this information is not available it is important that ONLY Managers call the Club to determine whether training has been cancelled.
  3. It is then the responsibility of the Manager to contact their respective teams.
