Teralba Park is OPEN Again - Sunday Matches to Proceed

newitem  fieldsopenWe have reopened Teralba Park this morning and all matches scheduled for Sunday 24 August 2014 will proceed. 

 

There has been some reallocation of fields so please check the fixture list at the clubhouse to confirm which field your match is being played on. 

 

Teams playing away from Teralba Park should check with the Football Brisbane website (http://www.footballbrisbane.com.au/index.php?id=72 ) to see if matches are proceeding at other grounds. Please do not contact any Mitchie FC club officials via telephone......see the Football Brisbane website or contact your team manager or coach if you require further information.

The Mitchelton Football Club is proud to announce a new long-term partnership with leading international sports apparel brand BLK who will become the Club’s Official Apparel Supplier. blk2

 

BLK, a subsidiary of WRS Group, will produce playing jerseys, training gear and merchandise for all Mitchie FC teams (including juniors, men’s and women’s) until the end of the 2017 season.

Sam Saif Appointed As Senior Mens Coach

newitem  samsaifThe Mitchelton Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Sam Saif as Head Coach of our 2015 Trophy Superstore Brisbane Premier League side.

 

Mitchie FC President, Roger McIntosh said the club was thrilled to secure the services of Sam and his assistants Paul Edwards and David McEvoy following confirmation that the club has been promoted to Brisbane’s Premier Football competition in 2015.

 

As a UEFA A License coach and having worked in professional football full time for 7 years with Sheffield United, and more recently as head coach of the very successful Brisbane Wolves, Sam has the experience and understanding of what it takes to get the best out of senior and young footballers, through developing each players maximum potential in a team environment.

Mitchie FC Summer 5-a-Side Competition is Back in 2014

newitem  5asidelogo_2014As a result of last year’s very successful tournament, Mitchelton Football Club is proud to announce that our extremely popular summer outdoor 5-a-Side Competition will be held again in 2014.

 

This competition will commence during the week of 6th of October 2014 and will run for 10 weeks until the week of 8th of December 2014. Players will be able to register for a wide range of age groups - Juniors (U6’s – U16’s), Open Seniors & Women, Open Mixed and Over 35s.

Mitchie FC Receives Grant for Field 5 Lights

Another important item in the Mitchelton Football Club Strategic Plan came closer to reality today with the Brisbane City Council (BCC) advising that our club has been awarded a grant of $91,579 for the installation of lights on Field 5. These funds have been made available as part of the BCC 2013/2014 Community Sports Club Grants Program.

 

The Field 5 Lighting Project will provide lighting to field 4 (training standard) and field 5 to full playing standard. When the project is completed, it will mean that Mitchie FC will have 4 full sized fields and 3 junior fields available for night training and matches.

 

In further facility development news the installation of a new fence behind the goals on the eastern side of field 3 commenced today.

 
Football Qld Coaching Courses At Teralba Park

The following Football Queensland (FQ) courses will be held at Mitchelton Football Club over the next couple of months.

 

March 29th & 30th

Skill training certificate (U9 – U 13)

May 3rd & May 4th

Game training certificate (U13 – U17)

July 26th & July 27th

Senior certificate (17 and above)

Current Mitchie FC coaches are encourgaed to enrol and be part of these courses. Don’t just consider the age you are currently coaching, consider what you may be doing in the next year or two, if this means you do two courses and you have the time that is fine. FQ have advised that both days in full must be completed to receive your certificate, so coaches May need to arrange for others to look after their teams so the course can be completed.

 

Please register asap as these are the only ones scheduled for the Northside and they will fill up very quickly.

 

Mitchelton FC will pay the $80 course fee if you are currently coaching at the club, just pay when you register if you can and the fee will be reimbursed.

Wet Weather Procedures

Match Days - To see if matches have been cancelled due to wet weather:

  1. Check the Football Brisbane website (click here to visit the site) which provides up to the minute information on ground closures for fixtures. This should be your first point of contact for all wet weather enquires;
  2. Check the Mitchie FC website for updates;
  3. Contact your team manager or coach;

 

 

Training Nights - To see if training has been cancelled because of bad weather:

  1. We will endeavour to post field closures on the Mitchie FC website between 4pm - 5pm;
  2. If this information is not available it is important that ONLY Managers call the Club to determine whether training has been cancelled.
  3. It is then the responsibility of the Manager to contact their respective teams.
