Senior Mens BPL Pre-season Training Starts 9 December

newitem  Pre-season training for the 2015 Mitchelton FC Mens Brisbane Premier League (BPL) First and Reserve teams will be conducted for two (2) weeks in December, with the first session to be held at 7:00pm on Tuesday 9 December 2014. The full schedule before Christmas will be as follows:

 
  • 7:00pm Tuesday 9 December 

  • 7:00pm Thursday 11 December 

  • 7:00pm Tuesday 16 December 

  • 7:00pm Thursday 18 December 

 

All interested players should arrive at these sessions at least 20mins before and be prepared to start at 7:00pm, not later. All players should report to Field 4 & 5 for these sessions and Dressing Room #4 will be available for use before and after training.

Women's Brisbane Premier League Trials

newitem  Trials for the 2015 Women's Brisbane Premier League will be held in mid-November with a further trial session in January 2015.

 

We are seeking expressions of interest for potential players who want to test themselves at the a high level of football. With enthusiastic coaches, social events and plenty of boot camps, team bonding and working with juniors - 2015 will be a fantastic season. Our aim is to win the league and have the support of a strong reserves/division 1 side. newitem  A Mitchie FC couple are walking 40km for children with autism in Brisbane. Paul & Pamela Phillips will be participating in the Take a Hike Brisbane challenge to raise vital funds for children with autism on Sunday 19 October. aeiou

Take a Hike is a community fundraising event spanning 40km over nine hours where participants hike together as one team to:

- Understand the challenges facing children with autism
- Understand the physical and mental challenges of a parent with a child with autism
- Create further awareness and support within our community

2015 U16 & U18 BPL Trials Start on 28 October 2014

newitem  Mitchelton Football Club wishes to announce that Under 16 and Under 18 trials for the 2015 BPL season will be held in late October and early November. All prospective players are welcome. 

 

The full details are as follows (NOTE - DATE FOR FIRST WEEK HAS CHANGED):

Sam Saif Appointed As Senior Mens Coach

newitem  samsaifThe Mitchelton Football Club is delighted to announce the appointment of Sam Saif as Head Coach of our 2015 Trophy Superstore Brisbane Premier League side.

 

Mitchie FC President, Roger McIntosh said the club was thrilled to secure the services of Sam and his assistants Paul Edwards and David McEvoy following confirmation that the club has been promoted to Brisbane’s Premier Football competition in 2015.

 

As a UEFA A License coach and having worked in professional football full time for 7 years with Sheffield United, and more recently as head coach of the very successful Brisbane Wolves, Sam has the experience and understanding of what it takes to get the best out of senior and young footballers, through developing each players maximum potential in a team environment.

Mitchie FC Receives Grant for Field 5 Lights

Another important item in the Mitchelton Football Club Strategic Plan came closer to reality today with the Brisbane City Council (BCC) advising that our club has been awarded a grant of $91,579 for the installation of lights on Field 5. These funds have been made available as part of the BCC 2013/2014 Community Sports Club Grants Program.

 

The Field 5 Lighting Project will provide lighting to field 4 (training standard) and field 5 to full playing standard. When the project is completed, it will mean that Mitchie FC will have 4 full sized fields and 3 junior fields available for night training and matches.

 

In further facility development news the installation of a new fence behind the goals on the eastern side of field 3 commenced today.

Wet Weather Procedures

Match Days - To see if matches have been cancelled due to wet weather:

  1. Check the Football Brisbane website (click here to visit the site) which provides up to the minute information on ground closures for fixtures. This should be your first point of contact for all wet weather enquires;
  2. Check the Mitchie FC website for updates;
  3. Contact your team manager or coach;

 

 

Training Nights - To see if training has been cancelled because of bad weather:

  1. We will endeavour to post field closures on the Mitchie FC website between 4pm - 5pm;
  2. If this information is not available it is important that ONLY Managers call the Club to determine whether training has been cancelled.
  3. It is then the responsibility of the Manager to contact their respective teams.
