SEQ Womens Premier League Coaching Changes
Wednesday, 23 April 2014

newitem  I wish to advise that there have been some changes to the coaching staff for the Mitchie FC SEQ Premier League Women's side. Coach Peter Hodgkin has decided to step down as Head Coach because of family and other commitments. Peter has issued the following:

"I have been away for the last two weeks visiting my wife's father who is very ill. Due to the uncertainty and seriousness of the situation I find I cannot commit fully to my coaching duties with the SEQ Women’s Premier League team and have decided to resign my position."

I would personally like to thank Peter for his tireless efforts over many years with women's football at Mitchelton. Peter will continue to be involved with the club especially with our Division 3 Women’s side, and we hope to see him involved in the club for many years to come.

Current SEQ Women’s Premier League Assistant Coach, Zoe Bickerstaffe, has accepted the position of Head Coach and will take over, effective immediately. We wish Zoe all the best in her new role.

newitem  Another important item in the Mitchelton Football Club Strategic Plan came closer to reality today with the Brisbane City Council (BCC) advising that our club has been awarded a grant of $91,579 for the installation of lights on Field 5. These funds have been made available as part of the BCC 2013/2014 Community Sports Club Grants Program.

The Field 5 Lighting Project will provide lighting to field 4 (training standard) and field 5 to full playing standard. When the project is completed, it will mean that Mitchie FC will have 4 full sized fields and 3 junior fields available for night training and matches.

In further facility development news the installation of a new fence behind the goals on the eastern side of field 3 commenced today.

Football Qld Coaching Courses At Teralba Park
Monday, 17 March 2014

newitem The following Football Queensland (FQ) courses will be held at Mitchelton Football Club over the next couple of months.

March 29th & 30th

Skill training certificate (U9 – U 13)

https://education-ffa.sportingpulse.com/event.asp?ID=10136

May 3rd & May 4th

Game training certificate (U13 – U17)

https://education-ffa.sportingpulse.com/event.asp?ID=10137

July 26th & July 27th

Senior certificate (17 and above)

https://education-ffa.sportingpulse.com/event.asp?ID=10138

Current Mitchie FC coaches are encourgaed to enrol and be part of these courses. Don’t just consider the age you are currently coaching, consider what you may be doing in the next year or two, if this means you do two courses and you have the time that is fine. FQ have advised that both days in full must be completed to receive your certificate, so coaches May need to arrange for others to look after their teams so the course can be completed.

Please register asap as these are the only ones scheduled for the Northside and they will fill up very quickly.

Mitchelton FC will pay the $80 course fee if you are currently coaching at the club, just pay when you register if you can and the fee will be reimbursed.

For any further information about these course, please contact our Technical Director of Football, Lenny Ingle (0419 733 675).
