Chance for Mitchie Juniors to be on TV - Sat 11 July |
|
Wednesday, 01 July 2009 |
|
Calling all Mitchie FC Juniors. Do you want to be on TV?
Channel 9 has a great new football show (Football Stars of Tomorrow) which goes to air every Sunday at 2.00pm. Our Director of Football, Greg Brown, has arranged for the show to come to Mitchelton and do a
feature story on the Junior side of the Club. This program is broadcast nationally and will provide great exposure for the
club.
The Channel 9 crew will be at Teralba Park from
just before midday on Saturday 11 July 2009. Representatives from Brisbane Roar will also be coming down. We need to try and get as many Mitchie FC juniors playing, watching or just
being around the club at that time. Juniors who can make it will need to be at the club from about 11.00am until finished. All players should be in their sponsors training shirt. We will set up teams and play games for fun.
Keep an eye on this website for more information as it comes to hand.

Lighting Project Update - 1 July 2009 |
|
Wednesday, 01 July 2009 |
|
The footings for the 4 new light poles have been poured and most of the underground conduit has been laid.
By the end of the week the new cross arms for the poles will have arrived and the attachment of the light fittings can begin.
Next Wednesday is a rest day for the Southern Skies Football Tournament being held at the club and this will allow for the new poles to be erected.
The only casualty so far has been a broken water pipe which was promptly fixed by Grant (Jabba) Bryant. Thanks Grant.
The project is going to plan.
A reminder to parents, coaches and managers to please keep all kids away from the work areas.

Our major lighting project is finally under way. The improved weather conditions means that it is now full steam ahead – future weather permitting of course!

Lighting Project Update - 17 June 2009 |
|
Wednesday, 17 June 2009 |
|
Our lights project will formally commence on Tuesday 23 June when footings for the four poles will be dug and the concrete poured. The poles are expected to arrive on site shortly after, or at the same time.
Work will continue for the rest of next week and the following week, which is the first week of the school holidays. Work will then need to stop for the second week of the school holidays because of the Southern Skies tournament. The following week, starting Monday 13 July, may require us to cancel all but Premier League team training as there will be only limited power each night. This will give the contractors every chance to complete the work as soon as possible. We would like to thank all members and their families for their patience and understanding during this large and important project.

We seem to be missing some of our alternate green playing strips. Can any teams who have “borrowed” these strips please return them to the club. We have a register at the club, so you can book them in and out as you need them each week. They are not to be kept by individual teams as we need to share them around – sometimes among the teams of two or three different age groups.
