Under 14 Div 1 in 2012 - Expressions of Interest |
Tuesday, 17 January 2012 |
Mitchelton FC is putting together a strong Under 14 Div 1 Team for 2012.
The priority of this team selection will be:
-
Players who did not succeed in being selected for the Under 14 BJL Teams
-
Players who played Mitchelton Under 13Div 2 and can play at a higher standard.
-
Players from other (Non-Mitchelton) teams who meet the minimum standard.
Our expectation from this team is that players who are selected, and complete the season, would be suitable candidates for BJL trials in 2013.

was largely due to the assistance that I received from the
following people:

Mitchie FC Under 12 Girls - What A Great Season! |
Tuesday, 20 September 2011 |
Mitchie U12 Yellow (click on photo to see a larger image) was born out of chaos really, a group of 9,10,11 and 12 year old girls. Strangers for the most part, thrown together with 2 clueless coaches, who inspired by the achievements of Pedr and the previous seasons U12 girls, thought ‘we can do that’ Right from the word go we spotted some great talent within the team and we thought that we could have a good season but we did not expect just how successful we would be.
After the initial new team wobbles we finally settled into a routine. Our training sessions became very enjoyable and the characters of all the girls shone through. A team spirit emerged very quickly hastened by our first game and first win. We then went on to win 8 out of 14 league games and drawing 1. In our biased opinion we think we would have won several more had it not been for injury and sickness at a vital point in the season but nonetheless a terrific result finishing a very creditable 4th and qualifying for the semi-final.

The Mitchie FC Premier Division 1 side stormed into the finals last night with an impressive victory over Toowoomba at Teralba Park. Mitchie FC Win 2011 Womens Open Cup |
Wednesday, 10 August 2011 |
Mitchelton Womens have won the Football Brisbane Open Women's Cup competition with a 1 nil victory over Eastern Suburbs at Perry Park last Sunday. The decisive goal coming from striker Crystal Kerr in the 66th minute with a blistering left shot from 15m.
Mitchie thouroughly deserved the vistory in the FA Cup style competition having beaten Springfield, Albany Creek, Park Ridge and Slack Creek on the way to the final. The game was evenly balanced at half time but after the break Mitchie were able to take their game to another level and dominated possession and field position.
Coach Peter Hodgkin praised his defensive players, "Our defense was very tight and gave little away. This enabled us to build pressure in attack and keep Easts on the back foot in the second half. Jess D'Souza was terrific in midfield and Crystal took her chance extremely well. It was a disciplined team effort and the girls are very happy with the win."
The Mitchelton Management Committee would like to congratulate the Womens team on their win. It was a phenomenal effort by players from Division 2, Division 5 and Division 7 and head coaches, Peter Hodgkin and Michael Howell. Congratulations and celebrate in style with your winnings.

Mitchie FC in Womens Open Cup Final - This Sunday 7/8/11 |
Saturday, 06 August 2011 |
MItchie Division 2 league leaders take on 2nd placed Easts in the Women's Open Cup final on Sunday morning at Perry Park.
The two teams have played twice already this season with both games ending in a draw so a close and tough match is expected. Mitchie is expecting a full squad available with the exception of Ellen Hibbert who is out with a hamstring injury sustained last week-end. The Mitchie girls are playing some hard disciplined football and have united in to a strong unit over the course of the season.
"I expect our central midfield duo of Jo Duffy and Captain Jess D'Souza will have a huge impact on this game. If we supply quality ball to our strikers and have the patience we need going forward we will put ourselves ahead. Our defence is very strong with our back 5 only conceding 5 goals all year." said coach Peter Hodgkin.
The game kicks at Perry Park of at 11:00am this Sunday 7 August 2011. Get out and show your support if you can.

Important Information About Carpark & Goalposts |
Tuesday, 21 June 2011 |
The Mitchie FC Management Committee would appreciate if all members and visitors can please note the following:
- Carpark behaviour - A
general reminder to all about driving carefully in the carpark. The
carpark is used by many members and there are often small children
about;
- Committee Parking Spots - A reminder that there is absolutely no parking in the Committee Parking Bays - these are clearly marked near the clubhouse; and
- Goals - The Goal Posts on all fields are to remain where they are. Under no circumstance are they to be moved. This is causing problems on weekends and with Football Brisbane.
We appreciate your cooperation with these matters. If you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact Pedr Kilpatrick on 0423 988 440 or via email
