Free Grass Roots Coaching Course - This Saturday 20/3/10 |

Football Queensland will be conducting a three (3) hour Grass Roots coaching course at Mitchie's home ground (Teralba Park) this Saturday 20 March 2010 from 9am until 12pm.
The course aims to help grassroots coaches perform their role more effectively, by giving clear guidance on the nature of their role and the kinds of activities they should include in their training sessions with kids. This is an excellent way for beginner coaches to learn the basic ‘tools of the trade' so that they feel more comfortable about teaching football to youngsters, and their players receive quality football experiences. All coaches who attend the course will receive the FFA's book, ‘Coaching Grassroots Football' and an attendance certificate. It is recommended that coaches attending the course be 15 years of age and above so they can fully appreciate the content of the course.
Please click here to register for this course online (this will ensure that the instructor brings enough coaching booklets). Alternatively, you can just come along at 8.45am. All candidates are reminded to bring suitable attire to be actively involved in practical sessions including suitable footwear (boots if desired) and shinguards. Writing materials, sunscreens, drink bottles and hats are also recommended.

The final week for sign on is THIS WEEK at the Mitchie FC Clubhouse. Sign on times will be Tuesday 23 Feb & Wednesday 24 Feb from 6pm until 7.30pm. For new junior players please remember birth certificate and passport sized photo.

Fixtures - It is important Managers let all players know of the wet weather procedures. The Football Brisbane website provides up to the minute information on ground closures for fixtures. This should be your first point of contact for all wet weather enquires. Decisions for morning matches will usually be made at 7am on the day of the game. It is no good ringing the day before as no decision will be made.
If Teralba Park is closed for fixtures due to wet weather we will endeavour to have this information listed on our website in addition to the Football Brisbane website.
Training
- For wet weather information on training nights we will endeavour to post field closures on the Mitchelton website between 4pm - 5pm. If this information is not available it is important that ONLY Managers call the Club to determine whether training has been cancelled. It is then the responsibility of the Manager to contact their respective teams.

Football Brisbane has annouced changes to the rules around the wearing of undershirts and/or undershorts. In past years, players were permitted to wear VISIBLE undershorts of a different colour to the main colour of their shorts providing that they could not be seen while the player was standing still.

 Welcome to all junior players who registered during our Junior sign-on days on 30 & 31 January 2010.
If you missed out on registering a junior player, don't worry because the opportunity to register as a player at Mitchie FC will be continuing well into February 2010.

Mitchie Midgets Program for 2010 |

The Mitchie Midget Program (for 3 & 4 year olds) will run for the third season starting Tuesday 23 February 2010. The Program will run until Tuesday 24 August (excluding school holiday periods).
The Mitchie Midgets Program is designed to teach the basis skills of football to both the player and their parent/guardian during each training sesssion.
Each session will run from 5.30pm to 6.30pm on Tuesday nights and contain a variety of different skills activities.
There is no need to purchase any specific football clothing to participate.
Each participant is required to have an adult or person to supervise/mentor them during each training session.

Junior Sign On Day (30/31 Jan 2010) - More Information |

As per the previous notice Mitchie FC will be holding it's Junior Sign On Day on Saturday 30 January (9am - 4pm) and Sunday 31 January (9am - 1pm). Please note the following additional information about the sign on days:

EFTPOS facilities will be available on the days however to avoid delay payment can be made by cash or cheque.

There is no ATM located at the clubhouse. The nearest ATM machines are located at Brookside shopping centre.

Help from volunteers needed - A meeting will be held at the clubhouse on Thursday 28 January 2010 at 7.30pm for all Club Members who are able to assist on the Junior Sign On days. The meeting is to explain the various roles required on the day.
At the meeting please advise Pedr Kilpatrick of the hours you will be available to assist.
Your attendance and assistance would be greatly appreciated.

Mitchie FC needs your help to give our home ground at Teralba Park a bit of a tidy up ahead of what is going to be another big football season. A Working Bee has been arranged for Saturday 23 January 2010 from 8.00am until Midday. 
Some of the tasks during the morning will include:
- cleaning the interior and exterior of the clubhouse;
- cleaning the canteen and bar areas; and
- weeding garden beds, etc.
Please bring along you whipper snipper and other gardening and cleaning tools. We look forward to your help.

Preseason training will recommence on Tuesday 5 January at Teralba Park at 6.45pm for players wishing to trial for the Mitchie FC First Division, First Division Reserves and Premier Youth teams. Teams will train each Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 6.45pm during preseason.
Our season will kick off on Sunday February 21 away to Ipswich City at Sutton Park. Preseason games are as follows:

Mitchie FC has accepted invitations from Football Brisbane to field a team in the U13 and U14 BJL competitions in 2010.
